Because Sokka is attracted to powerful women, and let's face it. Suki can't humiliate him like she used to now that he's a swordsman of epic proportions.

Ahh, Tokka is so much better since The Runaway. As I said on ASN:
"Oh, I love Tokka so much more after The Runaway. They confide in each other! And the Space-Earth bracelet is special to her! Well, we know that she likes him from way before, but now we know that they have a strong bond. THIS is the way for a ship to start. <3"
But anyway, although Sukka's okay, I think she gets too much enjoyment out of making a fool of him. Toph just teases, but Suki plays with his mind in a way that kind of seems mean to me. Besides, we now know that Toph and Sokka have real conversations with sincerity, and that they trust in each other. They do more than get overprotective and put the other one down. But this is my opinion, and I'm personally overjoyed that Tokka has a possibility in canon. THANK YOU THE UNIVERSE!
I'll probably color it and such eventually, but for now I like the penciled effect.

I love tokka ship and suki too (and Toph and Sokka themself and... well pretty all characters of ATLA...), but if Sokka dare tells that to Suki, he will have a long- bad- day (she's still more powerful than him^^)
